Lead Veterinary Technician

Department: Veterinary Assistant
Location: Melbourne, FL

Kings Trail Animal Hospital is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. This an excellent opportunity for skilled Veterinary Technicians looking to take the next step in their career and develop as a leader within a supportive environment!

In this role, you will provide leadership to our veterinary assistant team alongside general Veterinary Technician responsibilities, including inpatient and outpatient care, exam room assistance, and surgical assistance. Leadership responsibilities will focus on day-to-day delegation of tasks to optimize workflow, ensuring safety and medical standards are being met, and providing guidance, training, and mentorship to the support team.

This is an ideal position for those with high emotional intelligence, the ability to cultivate positive culture, and excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time position
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • Availability needed Monday–Friday with rotating Saturdays

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

  • Compensation: $21-25 per hour, for each hour worked*
  • Bonus package: $500-$2,000 based on experience and licensure
  • CE allowance: Up to $1,000 annually based on licensure

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
  • Active Florida Veterinary Technician certification preferred
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
  • Highly organized with excellent multitasking and time management abilities
  • Dedicated to high-quality medicine and patient care
  • Anesthesia induction and monitoring
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
  • IV catheter placement and IV/IM injections
  • Cystocentesis
  • Microscopic evaluation
